Heat wave alert: Odisha to experience hotter days and humid nights

The coastal and interior parts of Odisha are likely to witness a surge in the mercury level by three to five degree Celsius than the normal level.

Heat wave condition in Odisha

Due to the prevailing Northwesterly/Westerly dry air and high solar insolation, Odisha is likely to experience hotter days and humid nights. Especially, the coastal and interior parts of Odisha are likely to witness a surge in the mercury level by three to five degree Celsius than the normal level.

As per the prediction by the Regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar, the maximum temperature (day temperature) is likely to be more than 40°C at many places over the districts of Odisha and likely to be above normal by 3 to 5°C over the districts of the state for the next couple of days.
