In an exclusive OTV ground report, residents revealed that Maoists frequently storm the village, forcing local youths into recruitment drives and compelling villagers to procure rice, pulses, and medicines from nearby markets. The constant coercion has left villagers feeling trapped and helpless.
Although several Maoist hideouts in the region have been demolished in recent years, extremist activities reportedly continue in Topadhi. The lingering fear has pushed many families to abandon their land and homes.

One villager told OTV, “Our government and local police are not taking our protection seriously. Maoists often make us run errands for them.”
Security Forces Step In
As per reports, CRPF troops have already reached Topadhi village and set up camp. The forces will closely monitor the Maoist movement in the area to counter the threat and reassure the villagers.
Proximity to Jharkhand Adds Risk
Topadhi’s location, being extremely close to Jharkhand’s Tapkoi village, has intensified the problem. Reports suggest Maoists often barge into Topadhi from Tapkoi, which is widely known as a place where Maoists operate openly.
Many young men from Topadhi have already fled in fear of being forcibly recruited by the extremists, leaving behind their families and farmlands.
