"I had gone to Gochhida. While returning, an unknown miscreant snatched my chain near Radha Madhav Marbles at 3:04 pm," said the victim.

Earlier in July this year, a woman in Cuttack was seriously injured after two bike-borne miscreants tried to snatch her gold chain at gunpoint near Chhatra Bazaar Canal Road. While one attacker was nabbed by locals, the other escaped.

During the scuffle, the woman fell off her two-wheeler and sustained serious injuries. Some passersby quickly intervened and managed to catch one of the attackers after a chase. They severely beat him before handing him over to the local police. However, the second accused fled the scene.
