A girl fell off a bridge on Brahmani river while she was allegedly making a reel through her mobile phone near Kamagara locality in Dhenkanal district, on Friday.
Identity of the girl has not been disclosed by police yet, as a probe is underway.

According to sources, the girl was on her way and was travelling by an auto-rickshaw from Tarabha along with her maternal aunt (mother’s sister) when the mishap occurred. The two were proceeding to Khatuahata in Kamakhyanagar of the district.
The girl stopped the vehicle on the way and started shooting the reel. All of a sudden, she lost control of her and fell into the river and sustained grievous injuries.
Some locals rescued the girl after nearly half an hour and sent her to district headquarters hospital (DHH) in Dhenkanal. She is now undergoing treatment. However, her condition is said to be critical now.

“We were proceeding to Khatuahata at around 11.00 AM, when she insisted to make a reel. After we stopped at the spot, she shoot reel on her mobile phone. Later, she climbed a sidewall of the bridge and fell into the river,” the girl’s aunt Annapurna Nayak said.
“Hearing my scream for help, some locals reached the spot and rescued her after striving for around half an hour,” the girl’s aunt Annapurna expressed.
