The Ghatgaon Tarini temple, one of the most revered religious sites in Odisha, is set to undergo major infrastructure and beautification work with the construction of three new roads connecting it to Harichandanpur, Kendujhar, and Panikoili.

The development plans include the installation of grand ceremonial arches, parking facilities, food outlets, and other amenities aimed at improving the experience for devotees and visitors.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi recently reviewed the ongoing development work at the temple. The comprehensive project, covering an area of 59 acres, is expected to involve an investment of Rs 215 crore.

As part of the expansion, a large Yajna Mandap and Kalyan Mandap will be constructed near the temple premises, providing space for religious ceremonies and community events.

Additionally, plans include the establishment of a major interpretation center in the style of Konark architecture to showcase the history, legends, and spiritual significance of Maa Tarini and the Peetha. Discussions were also held on the future expansion of pilgrim lodging facilities near the temple to accommodate the increasing number of visitors.
