Four-year-old girl dies after being run over by van selling vegetables in Gajapati

In an unfortunate incident, a four-year-old girl child was killed after a vegetable-laden van ran over her at Gandaguda village under Adaba police station in Gajapati district on Sunday.

As per reports, the van reached Gandaguda village market to supply vegetables. People were busy buying vegetables at that time. However, the vehicle ran over the girl who was standing near it.  

The little girl was rushed to the nearby hospital in critical condition. However, she died while undergoing treatment there.

Tension prevailed in the area following the death of the minor girl in the accident. Irate locals reportedly detained the driver of the vehicle and thrashed him.

“My daughter was killed due to the reckless driving of the van driver,” said Lisian Nayak, the crestfallen father of the deceased.
