Bringing laurels for the State, four Odias will be conferred with the prestigious Padma Shri awards.
Renowned doctor Ashok Mahapatra will be conferred with the Padma Shri for his significant contributions to healthcare and medical research.
Similarly, Adwaita Charan Gadnayak and Durga Charan Ranbir will be awarded the Padma Shri for their excellence in the field of art.
Likewise, eminent poet Pratibha Satpathy will receive the Padma Shri award for her outstanding contributions to literature and education.
“I would thank creator of the universe Lord Jagannath, Government as well as the people of Odisha, and the Government of India. I am over 74-year old now; hence, it is nothing to be happy or sad. However, I respect the government’s decision for the award. Had this award been conferred to me thirty years ago in my young age, it would have inspired me more,” the Padma Shri awardee Dr. Ashok Mahapatra said to OTV.
“Getting any award should not be the aim of one’s Life. Serving people is the profession of a doctor and I have been serving for around the last 55 years,” Dr. Mahapatra added.
