After resigning as the Governor of Odisha, Raghubar Das on Friday made his return to active politics and re-joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The former Odisha Governor had resigned from BJP on October 23, 2023.
“On 23 October 2023, I resigned from the party which was very emotional for me since I had to take over a constitutional post. Since I am a disciplined soldier of the party I have done work as per the responsibility given by the party,” Das said in his reaction.
Das said he tried to work as People's Governor and visited all the 30 districts of the state during his stint as Odisha Governor. Apart from trying to collect information on whether the schemes were reaching the people or not, Das said that the aim of his life was to work for the welfare of the people.
“I come from a very humble family and it is the party which made a small worker like me from an MLA to Governor. Once again BJP has proved that an ordinary worker in BJP can reach top posts in politics. I have no ambitions in me as the party has given everything to me. I have only one mission to protect the culture and tradition of the state which is being attacked from all corners including anti-national elements and religious conversions,” Das said in Ranchi.
