Former Bharatpur police station IIC accused of discouraging man to lodge bike theft complaint in past!

When Bhutia requested the police to go to the spot as per the CCTV visual to nab the thief, IIC Mishra (now suspended) allegedly said that the police vehicle had no fuel. As per the allegation by the victim, he had given Rs 1,000 to fill fuel in the vehicle so that police could reach the theft spot.

While the incident of 'custodial abuse' to an Indian Army officer of Sikh Regiment and his fiancee and the suspension of five cops including the IIC of Bharatpur police station still fresh in mind, a person on Thursday came up with another allegation against former IIC Dinakrushna Mishra.

As per the allegation by Dhirendra Kumar Bhutia, who is a resident of Mancheswar area, his bike was stolen in front of a hospital where he had parked as his father was undergoing treatment there on August 30. As the hospital was coming under Bharatpur police station, he went there at around 12.30 am to lodge a complaint. However, his complaint was not registered even though he submitted CCTV visuals and other evidence to substantiate his theft allegation.

“Police discouraged me saying to forget about the theft and buy a new bike. I was casually told that the thief might have gone far away and used the engine of the bike in a boat. The IIC even misbehaved with me and said that it was my mistake as I didn’t double lock the bike despite several awareness campaigns,” said Bhutia.

“Though I came to the police station several times and requested the police to help me by investigating the matter, nothing happened. I even requested ACP and DCP, but in vain. After receiving the information that a new IIC has joined Bharatpur police station, I have come again to request the police to help me by investigating the matter and nabbing the thief,” he added.

However, no reaction could be obtained from IIC Mishra about the allegation against him.
