As it is perfectly said ‘death knows no time’, tragedy struck during a football match in Deogarh on Sunday.
In an unfortunate incident, a footballer collapsed while playing in a match of the Councillor Cup Tournament at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Deogarh district on Sunday. The footballer has been identified as Prakash Nayak of Bhunya Sahi.
As per reports, Nayak was playing for Deogarh Municipality Ward No.2 against Ward No.7. While the match was underway, Nayak suddenly collapsed on the field. He was immediately rushed to the Deogarh District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), where doctors declared him dead.
A pall of gloom has descended in the area following the incident.

Earlier last year, a 26-year-old player from Chhattisgarh fell ill and died minutes later during a Kabaddi match organised at Tarabod village under Komna Police limits in Nuapada district.
As the match was drawing to a close, Khageswar Rathia fell ill and collapsed in a heap, drawing a gasp of awe from the onlookers.
Rathia was immediately rushed to Tarabod government hospital from where he was shifted to Nuapada District Headquarters Hospital (DHH). But, it was too late by then. The doctors there declared him brought dead.
