In a tragic incident, a five-year-old boy died at Mugupada village under Dasarathpur police station in Jajpur district after he was allegedly administered with a wrong injection by a quack.
As per reports, Surendra Mallick’s five-year-old son was suffering from diarrhea. Subsequently, Surendra took the child to a nearby medicine store at Mandarakhanda village. The medicine shop owner administered an injection after examining the child.
However, the condition of the child deteriorated. Later, he was admitted to Jajpur District Headquarters Hospital immediately. But, he was declared brought dead by the doctors.
Following the incident, the crestfallen family members of the deceased filed a complaint against the medicine store owner at Dasarathpur police station alleging that he is responsible for the death of their child by administering the wrong injection.
“We took our son to the medicine store as he was suffering from diarrhea. However, his condition deteriorated after he was administered with the wrong injection by the medicine store owner. We admitted him to the hospital immediately, but he passed away,” said the deceased’s mother Kunilata Mallick.
