In a strategic push to position itself as the textile powerhouse of eastern India, the Odisha government will host the first edition of ODISHA TEX 2025, the state’s flagship textile investment summit, on July 25 at the State Convention Centre in Bhubaneswar.
According to The New Indian Express, the event is poised to unlock substantial investments across the textile value chain, with the launch of six dedicated industrial parks and multiple major MoU signings expected during the summit.
Eastern India’s Largest Textile Investment Summit
Branded as the largest textile investment summit in eastern India, ODISHA TEX 2025 will serve as a high-impact platform for engagement between leading textile companies, global brands, manufacturers, startups, and professionals from across the country.
Over 300 delegates from major textile hubs, including Tirupur, Bengaluru, Surat, NCR, Punjab, and West Bengal, are expected to participate.
The summit will spotlight investment opportunities in apparel, technical textiles, footwear, accessories, and luggage manufacturing. It will also mark the formal rollout of six integrated parks developed by the state government to attract sectoral investments.
As per reports, these parks will feature plug-and-play infrastructure, advanced logistics, and world-class amenities designed to support end-to-end manufacturing in textiles, apparel, and wearables.
Textile Sector at the Centre of Odisha’s Growth Strategy
ODISHA TEX 2025 is a key element of the state’s broader vision to become the ‘Textile Capital of India’ by 2030.
The event follows the momentum created by the Utkarsh Odisha: Make-in-Odisha Conclave 2025, which secured textile sector investment intents worth over Rs 7,700 crore, with a potential to generate more than 88,000 jobs. Further, under the Amended Odisha Apparel and Technical Textiles Policy (OATTP) 2022, the state has laid out targeted incentives for investors, alongside measures to enhance workforce skilling and ease of doing business.
The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), acting as the industry partner for the event, is facilitating broad representation from sectoral associations in fibre, hosiery, wearables, and allied verticals.
The event will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and is expected to conclude with formal investment announcements and MoU signings, setting the stage for Odisha’s rise as a global player in the textile industry.
