Film director Bobby Islam lodged an FIR with Dargah Bazaar police in Cuttack City on Wednesday, after he allegedly received death threats. He claimed these threats came from an unknown number through a WhatsApp call.

As per the FIR, an individual using the name Manoj Mishra, issued the threats against him. Bobby stated that if any harm comes to him, Manoj Mishra and his team should be held responsible. The complainant sought justice in this connection.

“Someone taking the name of actor Manoj Mishra, whose name is showing in Truecaller as Barik Soumyaranjan, called me on WhatsApp and threatened me with dire consequences. He told me by using slang language that ‘you will not be spared if you give any comment against Manoj Dada (the actor)’. I was scolded like anything. The second officer of Dargah Bazaar police station has heard everything,” Bobby Islam said when contacted.

“When I had a video call with him, the man was seen to have wrapped his face with cloth. The caller told me ‘Bobby Islam your time will end in a day or two,” Bobby Islam added.

However, actor Manoj Mishra's response to these allegations or any statement from the local police could not be obtained.

Worth mentioning, trouble mounted for actor Mishra after an FIR was lodged against him with cyber police in Cuttack by the Odisha Film & Television Directors' Association over his alleged controversial remarks on social media platforms, on November 12.
