Fever and cold spread tentacles in Koraput
Over 50 per cent of the people of Champaguda village under Ward No.17 of Koraput Municipality are currently suffering from fever, cough, cold, vomiting and body aches.
While the reason for the disease is yet to be ascertained, the villagers are reportedly in a state of panic.
As per reports, the infectious disease is spreading its tentacles fast in the area. Patients ranging from children to elders suffering from the disease in almost every family in the area are showing the same kind of symptoms.
Meanwhile, the local residents have alleged that the district administration is not taking the matter seriously.
In response, Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) Dr Sushant Das informed a team of health officials has already been sent to the area to take stock of the situation.
“After receiving the information, our health workers made a door-to-door visit immediately and provided treatment to the affected patients,” said health worker Babita Kumari Khara.
“Our health team has visited the area to take stock of the situation. They will make a door-to-door campaign and test the patients. Necessary actions will be taken after receiving the report from them,” said CDMO Sushant Das.
