Family members, relatives and several fans gathered to take part in all the rituals and remember renowned Odia film actor, Uttam Mohanty, on the occasion of his 'Dashah' (10th day of death) ceremony in Bhubaneswar on Saturday. 

This ritual is reportedly being held at the Nirmaldhir bank within the Balunkeshwar Mahadev Temple premises at Nayapalli in Bhubaneswar today.

Cherished Figure in Odia Cinema

Uttam Mohanty, a cherished figure in Odisha's cinematic landscape, passed away at the age of 67 on the night of February 27, at Medanta Hospital in Delhi. His career, which spanned over four decades, left an indelible mark on Odia cinema. Even in his absence, his legacy continues to inspire admiration and affection among his audience.

As per reports, family members, including his son, actor Babushaan, alongside other relatives, took part in the rituals during the ceremony. Fans and well-wishers also joined in large numbers to pay tribute to the legendary actor whose extensive filmography continues to resonate with countless viewers.

Fans and relatives offer tribute

"All the family members and relatives took part in the Dashah rituals of Uttam Mohanty. They offered Tilatarpana and some of them shaved their heads in memory of the legendry actor. After completing all the rituals at Nirmaldhir bank, we will go to his house to follow some more rituals," said Prakash Chandra Mishra, a relative of Uttam Mohanty.

"Apart from the family members and relatives, several fans of Uttam Mohanty have also participated in the 'Dashah' ceremony. All the rituals are being performed in a smooth manner," said Rabi Mishra, another relative of Uttam Mohanty.
