Fake West Bengal doctor running clinic in Odisha arrested

A fake doctor from West Bengal who was allegedly running a clinic illegally in Odisha’s Bolangir has been arrested after multiple complaints. The accused has been identified as Palasa Biswas, a native of Rameswarpur of West Bengal. He was operating the private clinic at Sindhekela under the Bangomunda block in Bolangir district. 

Biswas has been illegally operating the clinic for the past several years. All his degrees were found to be fake and some of his activities created suspicion in the minds of the local people who lodged a complaint against him. Based on the complaints, a team from Titilagarh and Bolangir conducted a raid on his clinic.

The team found enough evidence that Biswas was a fake MBBS holder. He was later arrested in the presence of the SDPO.

A case has been registered against him under Odisha Clinical Establishments (Control and Regulation) and National Medical Commission Act, police said.
