Rourkela Police on Thursday raided a fake hair oil manufacturing unit in the plant site area. The police seized a huge amount of fake hair oil packed in bottles imitating the packaging of top brands.
The seized hair oil reportedly carried a list price of Rs 8 lakh, informed sources.
The police have detained two persons in this connection.
As per reports, the accused manufactured sub-standard hair oil by adding harmful and illegal chemicals. After copying labels and bottle designs of some famous brands, they used to pack them and sell them in rural areas of Sundargarh district.
Speaking about the case, Rourkela Additional SP, Vikram Keshari Bhoi said, “The accused brought the raw materials to the factory and manufactured oil. He copied the packaging of some popular hair oil brands and sold them. We have seized 1,014 bottles of fake Nihar Natural coconut oil and 592 bottles of fake Bajaj Almond Oil.”
“Apart from that, 1500 litres of raw oil has also been seized by the police. We have detained two persons after registering a case at the Plant Site Police Station in this connection,” he added.
