Serious Allegation Against KIIT over placement
A former student of the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) has levelled serious allegations against the university, accusing it of harassment during placement procedures. The girl student, who was studying MBA, has taken the matter forward by filing a complaint with the Commissionerate Police.
The grievance raises important questions about the placement processes at KIIT, which is now in the eye of the storm following the death of a Nepali girl student and mistreatment by other students by the staff of the university.

“The placement cell is active but there is no transparency. I have passed from KIIT in 2022 and the officials did not take any action but rather harassed me. I informed them that I had taken an education loan and requested to help me with placement. All including the vice-chancellor and officials were informed about the sexual harassment by the placement cell officials. Despite giving them evidence, no action was taken by the KIIT authorities,” alleged the former student.
The former student alleged that the head of the placement cell (management) was very hostile and misbehaved with me.
“I along with my father had brought the matter to the notice of KIIT founder Achyuta Samanta and other officials. I was given assurance that they would see for the placement. The director and other officials were not responding to my grievances and mentally harassed me days prior to the death of the Nepali student. I had gone to KIIT to return my original degree due to such harassment,” she alleged.
Teachers At KIIT Are Not Student-Friendly
The former student further alleged that teachers at KIIT are not student-friendly. They are only bringing students by making false promises and KIIT is not an educational institute, but a hub for business.
“The teachers are threatening not to do the placement of the students. I had informed all such issues to the Commissionerate Police, Ministry of Higher Education, Office of CM, and others, ”the former student added.
Meanwhile, no comments could be obtained from KIIT authorities regarding the allegations levelled by the former student.
