Ex-Odisha Women Commission chairperson served show-cause notice on sub-par performance

The Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Odisha, has served a show cause notice to the former chairperson of the Odisha State Commission for Women, Minati Behera. 

As per the notice served, her performance during her tenure is unsatisfactory. Her performance has been found not up to the mark in disposing of cases and holding camp courts. 

“…your performance with regard to disposal of cases and holding of Camp Courts has been found to be unsatisfactory during your tenure in Odisha State Commission for Women,” read the notice.

She has been asked to explain why action shouldn’t be taken against her. 

“You are, therefore, called upon to explain as to why action, as deemed fit, shall not be initiated against you for the lapses as defined under Section- 4(3)(d)&(f) of the Odisha State Commission for Women Act, 1993. You are requested to submit your show cause reply to this Department by 4:00 P.M., 29th October 2024 affirmatively,” stated the notice.
