Egg Shops Shut Down In Boudh
Egg shops in Boudh were shut down by the district administration for 5T Secretary VK Pandian’s visit to the town on Wednesday.
It is pertinent to mention here that eggs were hurled at Pandian’s carcade during his visit to Sonepur on Tuesday. So the administration got extra cautious and shut down egg shops in Boudh to avoid a repeat of such incidents.
As per reports, as the day broke, police and health department personnel visited all the egg shops in the town and asked them to shut down their shops. They even took inventory of eggs of shopkeepers to verify later if they had supplied to anybody secretly.
The administration also warned the shopkeepers to obey the direction or face action, informed sources.
Eggs were hurled at Pandian’s carcade near Kota Samalei-Ulunda road in Sonepur district on Tuesday by activists of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Despite the closure of egg shops, the 5T Secretary faced protests in the Boudh district too. This time the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists staged a black-flag protest against the 5T Secretary’s visit to Ambagaon village in Kantamal block.
The BJP activists also raised ‘Pandian Go Back’ slogans and tried to storm into the 5T Secretary’s meeting venue. However, the activists were stopped by the police which led to a brief scuffle.
The district administration could not be contacted for comments in this connection.
