The train, which was set to roll from the newly built Nilagiri Gopinathpur Railway Station, will run between Nilagiri and Balasore three times every day. It was stated that the train service would be extended from Nilagiri to Bhubaneswar and to Kolkata in a phased manner.
Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister took a swipe at two former Union ministers from Congress – Kanhu Charan Lenka and Srikant Jena.

“If the two leaders had will power to carry out this railway project, they could have done it earlier. But some people lack willpower for the development of Odisha,” he said.

He further stated that it is Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has resolved to carry out the development of Odisha. The PM realizes the dreams he sees, the Union Minister added.

Speaking on the occasion, former Union Minister and Balasore MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi said, “All of us are happy that such a small hill-locked place like Nilagiri was placed in the Railways map of India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been trying to make India the number one developed nation in the world by 2047. The PM has emphasized on development of all sectors and all sections of people.”
He also urged people not to be misled by other parties.
