ILS Scientist Dr Sandip Mishra found dead at Bhubaneswar residence

Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) Dr Sandip Mishra, who had first invented breast cancer medicine, has died under mysterious circumstances in Bhubaneswar.

Dr Mishra's body was recovered from his residence at Satyanagar area in Bhubaneswar. Though he was rushed to the hospital by the family members, the doctors declared him dead. His body has been taken to Capital Hospital for autopsy.

Police have started an investigation into the matter as the exact reason Mishra's death is unclear. No formal complaint has been filed by the family members.

Family members claim that Mishra suffered from food poisoning and later died due to a cardiac arrest. 

"Dr Mishra had suffered some indigestion and later underwent treatment at a hospital. He went to the washroom and complained of shortness of breath. Later, we rushed to hospital where he was declared dead by doctor," said a relative adding that they suspected it to be a case of cardiac arrest.

The family members said that everybody was proud of Dr Mishra for his contributions.

"The way some misinformation was spread that he died by suicide is not true. My brother called me at around 11 pm and was updated about his health condition. As his sister and elder brother are staying abroad, his body has been kept at Capital Hospital. Once they arrive, steps will be conducted for last rites," said another relative.

Mishra, a scientist working at the Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, had brought glory to the State by achieving a breakthrough by discovering medicine for breast cancer. 

Dr Mishra’s discovery was also published in several famous science as well as Nature Group of Journals.
