In a rare and dramatic sight, devotees at a Ganesh Puja pandal near a school in Balasore were left astonished when a cobra slithered before the idol of Lord Ganesha, creating a scene that many described as both divine and frightening.
According to eyewitnesses, the reptile, believed to be a cobra, suddenly appeared during the evening hours and moved toward the idol of Lord Ganesha.
For several minutes, the snake remained in front of the idol as onlookers watched in awe. Many devotees interpreted the unusual occurrence as a symbolic gesture, recalling the traditional association of serpents with deities in Hindu mythology.
The spectacle quickly drew a crowd. While the moment carried devotional overtones, safety concerns soon surfaced.

Local youths immediately contacted the Snake Helpline team, which rushed to the spot. The trained rescuers safely captured the snake and later released it in a secure natural habitat.
Though no one was harmed, the incident has become a talking point in the locality. While some devotees see it as a divine blessing during Ganesh Puja, others highlight the importance of wildlife awareness and prompt action in ensuring safety.
