A group of differently-abled roadside vendors, who had been staging a sit-in outside the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) office for the last six days seeking rehabilitation, were allegedly removed by the civic body authorities forcibly from the site on Tuesday.
As per reports, the Divyang persons were carrying out their small businesses at Market building. After they were evicted, they had been demanding permanent rehabilitation.
An agitating vendor said, "Some hooligans came to the place and removed us from the protest site.”
Another visually challenged trader said, "They forced us out of the protest site without rehabilitating us.”
No reaction was received from the BMC.
