Despite restrictions, another drone footage of Srimandir aerial view surfaces

A drone footage bearing the aerial view of Lord Jagannath temple in Puri has surfaced on social media raising concerns over the safety and security of the 12th century shrine.

This drone footage shows a youth operating it to capture the aerial view of the shrine.

While the video fetched a huge number of likes and views on the youth’s social media handle, a complaint has been filed at Singhadwar Police Station in this regard.

It is worth mentioning that the area above the Srimandir is a no-fly zone.

Earlier, in December 2022, a drone video captured from close proximity to Puri Srimandir had gone viral on social media platforms too. The videographer, who captured the shot, was identified as one Animesh Chakrabarthy from West Bengal.

The video had gone viral after it was shared by one Krushna Chandra Padhy on his social media account. The clip was earlier uploaded by Animesh on his YouTube channel Animesh YouTube. The YouTuber has also thanked Odisha Police in the video.

Notably, Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) had swung into action and lodged a complaint with Singhadwar Police after the pictures of the sanctum sanctorum (Garbha Gruha) of Puri Srimandir went viral on social media.

A youth from Bangladesh, Akash Choudhury had clicked the photos of the temple interior and posted them on his Facebook account.
