Dead lizard found in mid-day meal in Odisha school, 40 students hospitalised  

Over 40 students from Udayanarayan Nodal School in Sirapur village, Balasore district, Odisha, were hospitalized after consuming a meal allegedly containing a dead lizard. The incident occurred on Thursday during the school's mid-day meal service.

Over 40 students of a government school at Sirapur village under Soro block in Balasore district reportedly fell ill after consuming mid-day meals on Thursday. 

A dead lizard was allegedly found in the food served to the students. The sick students were rushed to the Soro Community Health Centre (CHC) after they complained of health issues. 

As per reports, the students of Udayanarayan Nodal School were served rice and curry in their mid-day meal. Moments later, a student pointed out that he found a lizard in his food. Soon panic gripped the students. The school authorities immediately stopped serving the food and asked the students not to consume the food anymore.

Later, some students fell ill, complaining of stomach ache and pain in the chest. The teachers shifted the students to the Soro CHC in a 108 ambulance and other vehicles. 

Subsequently, a medical team visited the school and gave medicines to students after examining them. After consuming the medicine, they threw up the food they had. These students were also admitted to the CHC.
