Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Friday informed that the state has been successful in ensuring ‘zero casualty’ and mitigating the emergency situation arising out of the severe cyclonic storm Dana.

After reviewing the situation in Bhubaneswar, CM Mohan Majhi said that Cyclone Dana made landfall between Bhitarkanika and Dhamra from midnight. District Collectors have been directed to conduct damage assessment at the earliest.

“Our target of ‘Zero Casualty’ is achieved due to timely action of the administration. The parts where there have been blockades, electricity poles and transformers damaged, teams have reached the spot and started the process of restoration. By 1 pm, all roads will be cleared and power restoration work will be completed by this evening,” said the Chief Minister.

Cyclone Dana: Emergency Helpline Numbers For Odisha

According to the Odisha CM, flight services resumed at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar at 9 am today.

“With Lord Jagannath’s blessing, we have been able to tackle the emergency situation arising out of cyclone Dana successfully with the cooperation of administrative officials and other rescue teams which stood on the ground for 72 hours,” said CM Majhi.

All the senior officials were closely monitoring the developments round-the-clock. The wind speed of the severe cyclonic storm Dana is gradually decreasing. The rainfall associated with the cyclone Dana is likely to decrease after some hours today, the CM said.
