Ahead of the eight-day-long historical Bali Yatra starting in Cuttack on November 27, the registration for allotment of plots to traders/vendors visiting the fair started on Saturday.
The registration for plot allotment to small and medium-class traders and institutions started on the campus of Barabati Palace.
A trader or an institution can apply for a maximum of three plots, measuring less than 1000 square feet. At the time of registration, businessmen are required to deposit Rs 5000 through demand draft and they will get their money back at the time of receiving their plots.
“Stall registration for small and medium class businessmen and institutions has been started from today. Since the registration will continue till November 10, I would like to appeal to the businessmen who are interested to come and register. Once the auction starts on November 10, no one will be entertained for registration,” said Cuttack district culture officer, Lalit Mohan Mohapatra.
While the registration process will continue till November 10, the auction process will start on November 11 and end on November 15.
Meanwhile, the businessmen and traders queued up for registration were found in an upbeat mood. They said they are hopeful of doing brisk business.
A tunnel aquarium, seen in Malaysia and other countries, is going to be the main attraction of this year’s Bali Yatra. An owner of joyrides said that for the first time, he is bringing a tunnel aquarium to the state.
