The Sambalpur district administration has announced relaxations in the prevailing curfew situation in the city keeping in view the NDA, CDS, and High Court ASO exams scheduled on Sunday.

Informing about the same, district Collector Ananya Das said, “Though two relaxation windows in the morning and afternoon provided for the public to buy food and grocery will remain intact, they will be extended on Sunday to facilitate the examinees.”

“We have exempted the students from the curfew between 7:30am and 10:30am and between 4pm and 6pm to allow movement to and from the exam centres in Sambalpur,” she informed.

“All the students should carry their student ID cards and/or examination admit cards so that they can be identified by the authorities,” Das said.

The district administration has also provided an examination helpline number – 0663 2403644. Apart from that the administration will also provide buses that will ply from Khetrajpur Railway Station, Sambalpur City Railway Station, and Ainthapali Square to facilitate the movement of students to their respective exam centres.

“Because the shops will be closed for curfew, the students will be provided paid lunch. For that we have linked all the exam centres with the nearest Aahar centres,” she informed.

The Sambalpur sub-collector had issued orders mentioning that a state of Curfew under section 144 CrPc has been declared wherein no individual or group of people are allowed to exit their houses so as to ensure peace and tranquility in the jurisdictional area of Town Police Station, Dhanupali PS, Khetrajpur PS, Ainthapali PS, Bareipali PS and Sadar PS of Sambalpur with immediate effect until further orders.

However, relaxations were provided between 8.00 AM and 10.00 AM and 3.30 PM and 5.30 PM for procurement of any essential items or any other emergencies.
