Committee on Public Undertakings Chairperson Baijayant Panda visits Bengaluru HAL; lauds scientists, engineers

Baijayant Panda, National Vice-President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the Chairperson of the Committee on Public Undertakings on Monday visited Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Bengaluru and lauded scientists and engineers.

The Chairperson later took to social media to extol this as a step towards an 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' (self-reliant India). He also highlighted HAL's prestigious status as a 'Maharatna' company, a title signifying its substantial role and accomplishments within the public sector.

HAL, truly among India's finest

“In Bengaluru yesterday, it was a special privilege to take the controls of HAL's prototype Light Utility Helicopter. Indigenously developed, the LUH is one of the finest examples of #AatmaNirbharBharat,” the Kendrapara MP shared on X (formerly known as Twitter).

“Proud to experience first-hand the commitment, passion and skills of the people driving #MakeInIndia at this Maharatna PSU. Truly among our finest,” he added.

According to sources, Panda observed the Light Utility Helicopter (LUH), which is indigenously developed and also had the experience of piloting this lightweight helicopter and inspected the Tejas fighter jet, a key asset of the Indian Army.

Worth mentioning, the HAL is India's premier aerospace and defence company. Established in 1940, it designs, manufactures, and maintains aircraft, helicopters, and avionics, playing a vital role in India's aviation and defense capabilities.

HAL significantly contributes to India's defence self-reliance, producing key aircraft like Tejas and Dhruv.
