Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, has launched a new state-owned ride-booking application named 'Odisha Yatri', at an event commemorating National Road Safety Month 2025 in the state capital, Bhubaneswar. Developed by the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT), the app aims to provide safe, affordable, and convenient transport options to the citizens of Odisha.

The 'Odisha Yatri' app will offer a range of vehicle services, including Non-AC and AC mini cabs, sedans, and larger XL cabs. There are also plans to introduce inter-city rides, rental services, and pre-scheduled bookings soon. Designed to be inclusive, the app will include options for vehicles that are disability-friendly, pet-friendly, and accommodate extra luggage.

The platform is intended to empower drivers by ensuring they earn the full amount of ride fares, while passengers can expect a smooth and efficient transportation experience across the state. By grounding its operations in community engagement and transparency, 'Odisha Yatri' seeks to transform urban mobility and improve last-mile connectivity.

Operating on a digital commerce open network, 'Odisha Yatri' employs a subscription model that eliminates middlemen and commissions, supporting the government's vision of a mutually beneficial ecosystem for drivers and passengers. Collaborations with local police and transport departments enhance the app's reliability and safety, securing it as a dependable option for urban travel.

Ultimately, the app is poised to contribute to sustainable development by promoting driver welfare and providing affordable, eco-friendly journeys.
