West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has once again courted controversy after she reportedly threatened to set Odisha, North-East and Eastern India, and the entire country on fire. The Bengal CM’s statement has drawn strong criticism from Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and BJP National Vice President and Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda.
Taking to X, CM Mohan Majhi strongly criticised the Bengal CM for her statements and wrote, “@MamataOfficial, who gave you the authority to make such objectionable statements about Odisha?”
“Odisha is a peaceful state, and its people are responsible and aware. People of Odisha will never accept your hateful attitude, negative comments and insensitive attitude towards our state. Without giving justice to the victim of the heinous crime, the vindictive comments you are making are dangerous for the country,” he added.
“Please refrain from such statements. Keep calm,” his tweet further read.
BJP National VP Jay Panda also called out Mamata and said that such rhetoric has no place in society.
“I strongly condemn the statement by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Threatening to set Odisha, North-East, Eastern India, and the entire country on fire is reckless and divisive. Odisha is a peaceful state, and its people reject any attempts to incite hatred and unrest. Such rhetoric has no place in our society and will not be tolerated,” Panda tweeted.
