Once a prominent source of recreational entertainment, the iconic Circus is back in Bhubaneswar and is currently captivating audiences at the Exhibition Ground here. Provided the long gap since the last event of its kind, the event is drawing full houses with its thrilling performances, even in the absence of traditional circus animals like tigers or elephants.

High-Energy Performances Replace Traditional Acts

In line with government norms and animal welfare acts, this circus in the state capital does not feature any wild animals, stated sources. Instead, it dazzles audiences with a variety of gravity-defying and artistic acts.

Among the highlights are the Sky Swing (Zero Swing), Single-Wheel Cycle Show, Globe Bike Riding, Shooting Acts, Candle Light Balancing, and Fire Dance. The performers, with their incredible agility and precision, have become the main draw, with human artistry alone leaving audiences speechless.

Three Shows a Day, 25 Acts Each

In an interaction with OTV, the circus artists mentioned that they host three shows daily, each lasting about two and a half hours.

Within this duration, visitors are treated to 25 spectacular events that blend danger, humour, skill, and spectacle.

“Earlier circuses involved wild animals, and stunts featuring them were highly popular. However, we have now shifted to human art forms like extreme gymnastics and aerial acts, which are equally thrilling and enjoyable to watch,” said one artist participating in the circus.

Ticket Prices and Duration

The circus administration also informed that it will continue its run in Bhubaneswar till the upcoming Raja festival, offering ample time for families and enthusiasts to witness the magic. Sources also reported that tickets are priced between Rs 100 and Rs 400, accommodating a wide range of budgets.
