Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday arrested a senior official of a Chhattisgarh-based cement manufacturing company for allegedly attempting to induce Bargarh Collector.
According to a release issued by the anticorruption agency, Rambhav Gattu, Chief Manufacturing Officer of the cement
manufacturing company went to meet IAS Aditya Goyal, Bargarh Collector.
During the visit, Gattu offered the Collector a flower bouquet and a sweet packet. Suspecting the packet, the Collector directed his peon to open the packet in which four Rs 500 GC note bundles were found.
Following the incident, Gattu was detained and Vigilance authorities were informed.
On being informed about the incident, a Vigilance team reached the spot and seized the packet containing cash of Rs 2 lakh.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered against Guttu for attempting to induce a public servant. The accused has been arrested and is being forwarded to the court, sources in Vigilance informed.
