A team of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted a surprise raid on AIIMS Bhubaneswar late Thursday night to investigate an alleged irregularity in a tender process, sources said on Friday.
The eight-member unit of the central agency carried out raids at a pharmacy store on the premises of the premier medical institute. Massive irregularities have been alleged in the tender process of the pharmacy store.
The team reportedly seized many crucial documents during the raid to ascertain if the tender process was made at the hospital as per the standard guidelines of the government.
All the records of the medicines purchased were also examined while the raid team also interrogated the pharmacy store owners over the tender process.
The hospital authorities remained tight-lipped over the issue. A further detailed report is awaited in this case.
