As per preliminary reports, a team of CBI sleuths caught Raghuvanshi while allegedly accepting Rs 20 lakh as part of the Rs 50 lakh bribery deal.
As per sources, Raghuvanshi had been demanding a huge amount of a bribe from some mines operators to dismiss an ED case against them. Finally, a bribe deal for Rs 50 lakh was fixed.
However, the complainant informed the CBI officials regarding his demand, following which a trap was laid and Raghuvanshi was caught red-handed while accepting Rs 20 lakh bribe from the complainant.
Notably, a 2013-batch officer of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS), Raghuvanshi has been working as the Deputy Director the Bhubaneswar Zonal Office of the ED for the last one and a half years.
