Car enters Bhubaneswar Railway Station, concerns over security measures

In a major lapse, a car was found inside the platform of busy Bhubaneswar Railway Station. Even though the incident occurred in the wee hours of April 1, the video of the incident went viral on Tuesday.

The car managed to sneak into the railway station from the fish gate side. The vehicle was seen with one of its front wheels dangling over the edge of platform number 1. Many believe that a major tragedy could have happened if any train was scheduled to pass through the platform at the time of the incident.

Later the car was removed from the platform with the help of a crane, sources said.

It is suspected that the occupants of the car, including a woman were drunk as eyewitnesses spotted some liquor bottles in the vehicle.

From the viral video, some people can be heard telling the vehicle driver to stop the ignition.

The incident has exposed the security measures at Bhubaneswar Railway Station. Both the GRP and RPF officials have started an investigation into the incident. A detailed investigation is underway to ascertain how the car managed to enter the platform.

Soon after the matter was reported, RPF Khurda Road Division confirmed the development. Taking to its Twitter handle, RPF Khurda Road Division said "The concerned car was seized and the driver was arrested U/S 147, 145, 154,159 of the Railway Act."
