The Holy City of Puri on Thursday morning woke up to witness an emotional moment. A man lying on a stretcher was seen chanting ‘Jai Jagannath’ in front of Puri Simandir's Singhadwara. He is battling cancer and reportedly counting his last days.
Doctors have said that he doesn’t have more days. But, for Bijay Kumar Tarei, the Lord comes first. He is not afraid of death. So, before death embraces him, he wanted to see the Lord for the last time.
Bijay as his dying wish, requested his family members to take him to the Lord. Lying on a stretcher, Bijay reached to Puri Srimandir. Accompanied by his family, he offered prayers and thanked the Lord instead of being resentful of his condition.
As humans, we often resent and blame God for whatever happens in our lives. However, although he is battling cancer, Bijay is only thankful to the Lord as he waits for his last day.

According to sources, Bijay is from Kuakhai in Jajpur district. He is battling cancer and his condition is worsening with each passing day. Before his death, he wanted to seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath. As per his request, his family hired a vehicle and took him to the Holy City.
As his stretcher wasn’t allowed inside the temple, he sought blessings in front of the Singhadwara. The beautiful connection between the Lord and his devotee was a treat to the eyes in Puri this morning.
