Burglars are on the prowl in Bhubaneswar again as they went on a loot spree at the Metro Satellite City under Pahala police station in the Capital City on Tuesday.
The burglars looted valuables worth lakhs of rupees from as many as four flats in the apartment. As per the allegation by the flat owners, gold ornaments and net cash amounting to lakhs of rupees have been looted from their houses.
However, the loot incidents have been captured on the CCTV cameras. In the video clip, the robbers can be seen entering flats by covering their faces with clothes and later looting valuables.

As per reports, the gang had earlier targetted other apartments in the city as well.
Though the Commissionerate Police had claimed to have nabbed the gang, series of burglary incidents in the city again has raised several questions.
“We were not at home when the theft took place. There was cash of around Rs 2.5 lakh and gold ornaments which have been looted. There is absolutely no security measures here,” rued a flat owner.
“We are totally unsafe in Bhubaneswar. There is only one security guard here. We have heard that miscreants have looted valuables from four flats in this apartment,” said another victim.
“I am very much afraid after the theft incident. We were hearing about burglary incidents in other parts of the city. But this time we have become victims. It appears that the gang is quite expert in housebreaking and it is surprising that the criminals have moved around three blocks of the society and committed the crime,” said another local resident.
“We were stunned after watching the CCTV footage. The looters dared to move freely around three to four blocks. That means they have come here earlier and done a survey in the apartment and conducted the crime later,” said another flat owner.
Meanwhile, Commissionerate Police officials could not be contacted over the incident.
