Bulldozer to raze illegal encroachments on govt lands by influential people in Odisha: Minister

After different parts of the country, the bulldozers are set to demolish illegal constructions on government land in Odisha.

While talking to reporters in Sambalpur, Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari on Wednesday informed that earlier the structures of poor people, who had encroached upon small portion of land, were being evicted in the state. Now, there would be action against the rich and other influential people in the state, warned Pujari.

“We have no got many records. I have seen in the last several years that structures of people in 2 to 4 decimal of land were razed. There are many influential people, officials who have encroached upon government land,” said Pujari.

Pujari further said that such people and officials have constructed high rise buildings and soon such structures will be razed by bulldozers.

Earlier, Odisha government had also directed District Collectors to take steps to remove illegal encroachment from government lands- both in urban and rural areas in the state.
