Following complaints by patients and their relatives that some private hospitals in Odisha are allegedly refusing cashless treatment facilities to the beneficiaries of the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) citing a change in government, Odisha Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena came up with a clarification on Thursday.
Jena clarified through a video message that all the BSKY beneficiaries will continue to get cashless healthcare services and stern action will be taken against hospitals denying treatment facilities to BSKY beneficiaries.
"Reports have been published about some empanelled hospitals neglecting treatment to BSKY card holders. We want to inform you on behalf of the government in this regard that all BSKY beneficiaries will continue to get cashless healthcare services. All empanelled hospitals have been asked to continue treatment to beneficiaries as before." said Jena.
"People can reach out to the Health Department via its helpline number about any hospital denying or neglecting treatment facilities. Stern action will be taken against hospitals denying treatment facilities to BSKY beneficiaries. People should not have any kind of confusion in their minds that BSKY has been closed before implementation of any kind of alternative scheme," he added.
Earlier, the H&FW Department, Odisha, also clarified that all the BSKY beneficiaries will continue to avail of the cashless healthcare services.

"This is to clarify that all BSKY beneficiaries will continue to avail cashless healthcare services. Hospitals have been sensitized to continue treatment to beneficiaries without any disruption. All claims raised by hospitals will be paid by SHAS as before,” the H& FW Dept said in a tweet.
Odisha BJP President Manmohan Samal had also urged not to create any confusion over BSKY.
