Bolangir murder case: Girlfriend conspired to kill Rajat, reveals investigation

In a new twist to the Bolangir youth Rajat Kumar Pradhan’s death case, it has been found in the police investigation that the deceased’s lover, who happens to be a minor girl, is the main conspirator of the crime.

As per police sources, the accused had prepared a blueprint to get rid of Rajat from her way. Accordingly, she took help from her three minor friends and as many adult boyfriends to eliminate Rajat.

After committing the murder, they threw the body on the railway track to give it the shape of an accident or suicidal case.

Notably, Rajat went missing on June 23. Later, his body was recovered from the railway line near Khujen Pali village the next day. A case was subsequently registered by the Government Railway Police (GRP).

However, the family members and villagers alleged that Rajat was allegedly kidnapped and later killed by some people. The matter took a new turn when a shirt of the deceased was recently recovered from a tree which is six kilometers away from the railway track. 

Following protest by hundreds of Aainlachuan villagers, Sadar Police took over the investigation of the case on the directions of the SP.
