Blood-soaked body of woman found on river bank in Cuttack
A blood-soaked body of a woman was found on the bank of a river near Paramahansa area under Kandarpur police station in Cuttack district on Friday.
The body has deep injury on the face and the neck. It is suspected that the woman has been murdered in a gruesome manner with a sharp-edged weapon.
Upon being informed, Cuttack police reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.
A sharp-edged weapon has also been seized from the spot.

“’Om Baba Balia’ has been written in Odia in a tatoo on the left hand of the body. Moreover, ‘pita kpsm’ has been written on the left hand. I request people to intimate the police if they have any information in this regard. Then we can identify the body,” said Cuttack DCP Jagmohan Meena.
“The body has deep injury marks inflicted by a sharp-edged weapon. We have recovered the weapon from the spot. Prima facie it is suspected that the woman has been murdered. Nobody has lodged any complaint about the incident so far as the body is still unknown. We will register a case if any local residents report about the incident,” he further said.
“We will verify all the missing reports filed in all the police stations in Cuttack district. We will also request people to give us some clues based on the tattoos on the body as part of our investigation,” he added.
