Blast at Tata Steel Kalinganagar plant in Jajpur, 8 workers injured

In a tragic incident, at least eight workers were injured in a mishap at Tata Steel plant at Kalinganagar in Jajpur district on Friday.

According to initial reports, the workers were injured following an explosion melting shop of the Tata Steel plant.

All the injured workers have been admitted to the Tata Steel Hospital for medical treatment. The exact cause of the explosion is yet to be determined. 

“Nine individuals were injured in the incident and were immediately taken to Tata Steel Medica Hospital for medical attention and one of them has already been discharged from the hospital after first aid.The medical team is currently attending to the injured and has confirmed that everyone is now out of danger,”said Tata Steel in a statement.

The Company further informed that the incident has been intimated to the concerned authorities and the family members of the injured persons.The incident site has been barricaded and internal investigation is underway.
