BJP's Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi slammed the Odisha government during her visit to Kendrapara district on Saturday for not fulfilling its promises made to the people. During a press meet, the national spokesperson of the BJP criticised the concerned authorities alleging that out of the Rs 12 crore promised for the development of the Baladevjew temple, only Rs 2 crore has been extended.

Aparajita also demanded that the State government should utilise the Paradip CSR funds for the development of the district and take steps for the establishment of a medical college in the district.

Moreover, she assured that she will speak with the concerned minister about plying of a passenger train on the Haridaspur-Paradip railway line.

"It was said that Rs 12 crore will be spent on the development of the Baladevjew temple. The priest here showed me that only Rs 2 crore has been spent. For the rest of Rs 10 crore, only assurances were given and nothing has been released or done. Moreover, I think the state government should show some seriousness and promptness towards initiating the process of establishment of a medical college," said Aparajita Sarangi.

During her visit, the MP arrived at Tinimuhani and participated in a padyatra before having darshan at the Baladevjew temple.

Meanwhile, no responses on Aparajita's claims have been received from the State government or the ruling-BJD.
