Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Vice President, Baijayant Panda on Thursday visited Maa Vaishno Devi temple at Komna in Nuapada district.
Baijayant Panda was on an apolitical visit to Komna in Nuapada district. On his arrival, he was accorded a grand welcome with people performing ‘kirtan’, beating traditional drums, and bursting crackers. Chhattisgarh’s Raipur MLA Purandar Mishra was also present on the spot to welcome him. Then Baijayant Panda went straight to Maa Vaishno Devi temple for darshan and sought the blessings of the deity.
“I visited Maa Vaishno Devi temple to seek Her blessings. As you know, my family resides in Western Odisha. Bargarh is my grandfather’s place. My uncles, brothers, and sisters keep asking me to pay them a visit. Whenever I visit Western Odisha, I meet them. Among the local leaders, Chhattisgarh’s Raipur MLA Purandarji is also here. He is representing the Odia Samaj there. Coming here gave me immense pleasure. Since Western Odisha is the place of my grandfather and uncle, I have a soft corner for it. People shower their love and affection not only in Bargarh and Sambalpur but also in Nuapada and other places of Western Odisha. I feel good whenever I come here,” said Baijayant Panda.
