Taking to her Twitter, Sarangi came down heavily on the conch party alleging that the State government employees are delivering speech in Biju Yuva Janata Dal programme while master book keepers of Self Help Groups (SHG) are taking pledge to follow the directives of MLAs.

Sharing a video and some pictures, the BJP MP wrote, “A Govt official in Odisha addressed Biju Juva Janata Dal Meeting recently. The video shows Master Book Keepers of SHGs-receiving remuneration from Govt-taking oath to OBEY THE DIRECTIONS of a BJD MLA. Governance in Odisha has become RIDICULOUS-it is a joke. We feel ashamed.”

“Several people are not aware of the financial and social growth of women through SHGs. So, there is no point in analysing their opinion. The financial, social and mental growth of the women have benefitted the society,” said Prasanta Kumar Muduli, government chief whip, while responding to the allegations.

In the viral video, the women SHG members can be seen taking pledge by taking the name of Cuttack Sadar MLA at Khandeita Panchayat under Cuttack Sadar block. They said they will work as per the direction of the MLA.
