BJP leader receives death threat, lodges FIR against BJD's former vice-chairman of Daspalla block
The Daspalla block former BJD vice-chairman has landed in soup after a BJP leader accused him of abusing and giving threats with dire consequences. In his written complaint, the BJP leader Raghab Malik, who was also the MLA candidate in the last election, alleged that the former vice-chairman even hurled casteist slurs at him as he belongs to the SC community.
Based on his complaint, police have registered a case and launched a probe into the incident.
According to sources, the former block vice-chairman Basanta Kumar Sahoo has illegally constructed a ‘dhaba’ over government land in Banigochha. He even carries out illegal liquor business in the dhaba, alleged Raghab.
On being exposed, Basanta got furious and threatened the BJP leader with dire consequences.
“I was conducting a meeting at Kulurkumpa village when Basanta abused me using obscene languages and threatened with dire consequences over mobile phone,” the BJP leader alleged in his police complaint.
Based on his complaint, police have registered a case under section -296/351(1) BNS and section 3(1)(r)(s)/3(2)(va) SC/ST POA Act. As per the orders of Nayagarh SP, DSP Sukanta Patra has taken up the investigation of the case.
