Stepping up his attack, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi came down heavily on the previous BJD government for below-par education in 5T schools. He called it a complete drama by the Naveen Patnaik-led government. No one will be spared and everyone will be held accountable, CM Majhi roared in the Assembly on Tuesday.
“In the name of 5T school transformation, the BJD was just doing drama for the last five years. We can see the ground reality now when we visit the schools. This was all a time pass for BJD. We will not spare anyone, everyone will be held accountable,” the CM said.
He further added that Odisha is a revenue surplus state only because of PM Modi government’s mining revenue policy.
“If Odisha was a revenue surplus state, why were 50% of students dropping out after Class 10? Why was the income of farmers so low compared to other states? Was this BJD’s revenue surplus?” CM Majhi questioned.
Earlier, he had stated that though crores of rupees were spent for the transformation of 5T schools in Odisha during the previous BJD government, several schools under the initiative are languishing in dilapidated conditions across the state.
The BJD leaders through this initiative swindled huge amount of money only by painting colours on the school buildings. On the other hand, many schools have leaking roofs with cracks in their walls. Most of the schools do not even have computers and most importantly no teachers to teach the students.

Earlier, on Teachers' Day, Mohan Majhi had stated that the 5T education is below par and is yet to yield any success.
“Students were found not even able to do simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. They were not able to secure good marks,” the CM had said on Teacher’s Day.
