Senior BJD leader Prafulla Ghadei recently alleged that his son ‘Preeti Ranjan has been a victim of the party's internal politics’. Ghadei further alleged that, during the 2024 general elections, Preeti Ranjan had to leave his Korei Assembly constituency and move to Sukinda because of the party’s internal conspiracy.
“Against his will, Preeti Ranjan had to leave Korei and go to Sukinda. When he was on his way to file a nomination for Sukinda, I saw him crying. His supporters from Korei were also crying with him because they wanted him to contest from Korei. Even I shed tears after seeing the heart-wrenching incident,” said Prafulla Ghadei during a public gathering.
However, BJD leader and Opposition chief whip, Pramila Mallik refuted the allegations of internal dispute within the party. Responding to allegations of conspiracy and internal politics within the party, she said that the BJD is as strong as before and is doing well under the leadership of BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik.
“There is no place within the party where any such conspiracy can transpire. There weren't any in the past; nor are there any now. The party continues to run under Naveen Patnaik's leadership as it always has. There is no ego or arrogance growing within the party or anyone else. It continues to operate as it is supposed to,” Pramila stated.
Questioning Ghadei's motives behind the allegations, Pramila instead asked, “Why is Prafulla Ghadei making such claims now? He should be asked who exactly was conspiring.”
